Better Business Bureau
It's a really good idea to check with the Better Business Bureau before deciding who to buy your appliances, televisions and home furnishings from in Oregon. Oregon Appliance Dealersmay give you some help and information about appliance stores in Oregon and the Portland area but these are just my opinions and there is nothing scientific about what you read on this website. BBB makes it easy for consumers to find about merchants so always check with BBB before making major appliance purchases.
I will be adding more stores and maybe removing stores listed on this website from time to time as well as more information and maybe some shopping tips. If you have a bad experience with any appliance purchase in Oregon you can report it to the Better Business Bureau. It's EXTREMELY quick and easy and you can actually fill out a form on their website.

Extended Warranties are the worst thing consumers can buy.

  • Your time is important to you.

  • Money is important to you and you don't want to buy at a store that charges high inflated prices.

  • You want a good appliance selection.

  • You deserve to get "honest" advice from a salesperson who has "your" interests in mind and not a slick commission paid smoothie who could care less about your needs and just wants to line his own pockets with money at your expense.

The time has come for somebody to offer a list of the best appliances stores in Oregon.
If you need to buy a major appliance in Oregon, I recommend the following stores.

Costco may just be the best store to ever come along. They have the best selection of "EVERYTHING" you will see anywhere so you can buy your groceries at the same place as your plasma TV and refrigerator. Save time and gas by getting it all at one place. Costco has a return policy that is the best in the industry. You can buy with the peace of mind knowing that you got the best quality at the lowest price and if you are not completely satisfied you can return it with out getting a huge runaround and a bunch of hassle. COSTCO: "The Perfect Store"

The name says it all. They have stores all over the state of Oregon. Best Buy has a great reputation for low prices and a great appliance selection. From what I can see their salespeople are not on commission. There is no incentive for them to lie to you about products to pad their products. Salespeople at BEST BUY may ask you to but an extended warranty but their entire livelihood does not depend on it and they will not annoy you to death until you finally give in.

Buy your appliances from the store who is

There is a reason that Basco is the Street Of Dreams Sponsor. They offer the best line of built-in appliances you may find anywhere else in Oregon. Many people consider BASCO to be the best appliance store in Oregon and Washington because of their EXTREMELY knowledgeable sales staff, their vast selection of appliances and their LOW LOW prices. They have special builder pricing on appliances that are often way below what other stores in this area "claim" to b e "builder prices." Shopping for appliances at BASCO is a very unique experience.
Food cooking demonstrations, live displays of appliances actually hooked up and running in the showroom and a sales staff of the friendliest, most intelligent and best informed sales people make shopping for appliances at BASCO an experience you'll never forget. If you ever shopped at the old Smith's Home Furnishings stores in the Portland area you know what it's like to get steamrolled and hustled by a bunch of smoothie salespeople who didn't care what "you" wanted. They only cared what made them the biggest commissions. BASCO sales staff is the most professional you may find anywhere and they educate you and help you find the items that "YOU" want rather than pushing the ones on you that give them the biggest spiff. Shop at BASCO and see what a truely quality shopping experience can be.

BASCO, Builder's Appliance Supply Company, is the Northwest's first Appliance Gallery, catering to Designers, Builders, Remodelers and their clients. We show a wide variety of products displayed in warm, inviting kitchen environments. These appliances are displayed “Live” awaiting your discerning, hands-on critique. Sit by the river rock fireplace and sample a cup of coffee from the “Live” Miele Coffee System while viewing a product demonstration of the incomparable La Cornue Range from Paris.

While BASCO has an extensive collection of high end appliances, we also carry products suited for low to mid-range projects. We are very proud of our professional staff. They are up to date on the newest innovations and are well versed on specifications for your cabinet makers and installers. Lowe's is a full service appliance store. Their expert salespeople will not just annoy and try to "sell" you appliances. they'll ask questions and even help you plan your entire kitchen. They offer everything from appliances to carpet, counters and counter-tops and everything in-between. They always have the lowest prices and offer FAST EFFICIENT deliver. Rather than travel to 4 different stores to get everything you need, why not get everything under one roof and save lots of money at the same time. THEY DON'T NEGOTIATE PRICES so you don't have to waste your valuable time dickering as if you were in some outdoor market in India. But they do guaranty the lowest price so you never have to worry about paying too much. And .... if you tell them you DON'T WANT THE RIDICULOUS EXTENDED WARRANTY they will tell you "taht's OK" and they'll do it with a smile and then they'll drop it!

HUGE selection. Salespeople are not commissioned. Lowest prices. Honest and very helpful sales staff.
Never any high pressure. Hamilton's sales people will offer extended warranties on the various products but they will NOT try to jam one down your throat.

IKEA may just be the best all-around shopping for appliances and home furnishings you will find in Oregon. No high pressure liars trying to shove extended warranties down your throat. Just helpful sales staff who can show a bigger selection of quality appliances and home furnishings (that come from all around the globe) than you will find anywhere in Oregon. When companies like Smith's Home Furnishings go broke, it should be a notice that Oregon consumers will not stand for "used to be a used cars salesman but now I sell appliances" type business tactics. When you walk into IKEA you will feel the difference in the air. Fresh and clean store with appliances and home furnishing and everything related in every direction and as far as the eye can see. The focus is on selection and customer satisfaction, and not on salespeople who force you to buy products you don't want because they get a bigger spiff or commission for selling them. Want a really refreshing experience that will make appliance and hom furnishing shopping really fun again? Go to IKEA today.

In these days when gas prices are at an all time high and time is money it really makes sense to shop where you can buy lots of items in the same store instead of traveling to several specialty shops. Sears carries appliance and home furnishing but also a large selection of other items. They are also often located in malls where you can shop at several stores at once and satisfy your shopping list at one stop. Sears has the widest selection of appliances and the largest choice of brands I found almost anywhere. Watch for their 10% week-end sales and free delivery sales too. Sears has been in business longer than 99% of the stores you will find anyplace and that's because they have been treating their customers right for a more years than almost anyone in the business.

Fry's Electronics is the store of the future for the Portland, Oregon area. Fries has more items than anyone in the state and a typical shopping session could actually take more than one single day. Fry's has more items at lower prices than you are likely to find anywhere in the country. SELECTION - SELECTION - SELECTION! LOW PRICES! Check their weekly ad in the Friday Oregonian and you'll see why so many people make the trip. They are not close to everyone but everyone says the trip is worth it! they also carry more than just your basic models of home appliances. They are often the first to come out with new innovative products that are not shown anywhere else for a year or two later. Come early and stay late so you can see everything!

DeWil's Interiors

Whether you are looking for the cheapest most basic $199.00 dishwasher or the very top of the line European imported built in appliances or anything else in-between, DeWil's Interiors in Vancouver, Washington is the place to shop. DeWil's has a larger selection of the widest variety of appliances from the most basic to the most deluxe than you may find anywhere. They are not in Oregon but awfully close and definitely worth the trip. They have a vast selection of cabinets and kitchen counter-tops and lots of completed kitchen displays showing all the appliances and cabinets just the way they would look in your home. Don't buy anywhere before checking prices with DeWil's on your complete appliance order. These people are known for creating some terrific deals.
